Scholarship

Sta. Teresa College provides assistance to poor but deserving students through scholarship program. In cases where the student qualifies for more than scholarship he/she shall be given only one, whichever provides more benefits.

I. Financial Aid Award
This award is given to the following individuals:
  1. Financially incapable graduate of any DepEd recognize High School.
  2. Scholars who have maintained after their first term of attendance a general weighted average of 2.0 or higher.
Conditions for Financial Aid Award
  1. To qualify, the applicant must:
    1. Not be a recipient of any scholarship grant or any other form of financial assistance either externally during his/her inclusion in the program.
    2. Pass the competitive exam and the interview to be given by the Guidance Center.
    3. Attach in the application form his/her income tax return and the letter of need signed by the parent/guardian.
    4. Possess good moral character and must not have record of misconduct as stated in his/her certificate of good moral character.
    5. Possess good physical condition as certified by an accredited STC physician.
    6. Have annual gross income of not more than P60, 000 as indicated in the parent’s/guardian’s income tax return.
    7. He/she must pass the competitive exam and the interview to be given by the Guidance Center. Qualified applicants shall be ranked based on their academic score: 25%, interview/background investigation: 25% and economic status: 50%.
  2. To keep the scholarship, the awardees should:
    1. Enroll and pass all the previous and current regular load of academic units specified in his/her curriculum including P.E and NSTP.
    2. Maintain an average grade of 2.0 with no grade below 2.5
    3. Have no dropped subject during the term of evaluation.
    4. Not have been found guilty of any minor or major offense.
    5. Be willing to report to any office designated to them.
II. Entrance Scholarship Award
This is awarded to graduates of STC High School or any DepEd recognized high school in the Province of Batangas. The scholarship grant is exclusive to those who are not to take up education courses. The applicant for scholarship must not have enrolled in any collegiate unit prior to enrolment at STC.
How to Qualify in the Entrance Scholarship:
  1. The applicant must belong to a graduating class of 100 or more students as certified by the School Principal.
  2. The applicant must pass/meet the admission requirements of the college and must have the regular load for each semester.
  3. The applicant must be of good moral character and must not have any record of misbehavior in the school he/she last attended as proven by his/her certificate of good moral character.
  4. Applicant must submit certification of honors received duly signed by the Principal.
  5. Applicants must be in good health as certified by an accredited STC physician.
  6. Scholarship discount covers only the tuition fees. The discounts to be given to the scholar on his/her initial semester at STC will be:
    1. Valedictorian -> 100%
    2. Salutatorian -> 75%
    3. Honorable Mention Awardee -> 50%
    4. STC High School Graduate -> 50%
III. Academic Scholarship
This scholarship is given to those who qualified for the entrance scholarship. After the 1st term of scholarship, the entrance scholar must apply for this in order for him/her to retain the scholarship on the following conditions:
  1. Those who have a general weighted average of 1 to 1.25 will qualify for full tuition scholarship.
  2. Those with a general weighted average of 1.26 - 1.5 qualify for tuition for 75% tuition scholarship.
  3. Those with a general weighted average of 1.51- 1.75 qualify for 50% tuition scholarship.
Under these three conditions, qualifiers must not have grades below 2.5.

IV. Faculty Scholarship/ Alumni Scholarship
The scholarship is given to financially incapable graduates of any DepEd recognized high school. Conditions for Faculty Scholarship/ Alumni Scholarship
  1. To qualify, the applicant must :
    1. Not be a recipient of any scholarship grant or any other form of financial assistance either externally during his/her inclusion in the program.
    2. Pass the competitive exam and the interview to be given by the Guidance Center.
    3. Attach in the application form his/her income tax return and the letter of need signed by the parent/guardian.

    1. Apply for evaluation of scholarship on a semestral basis
    2. Enroll and pass all the previous and current regular load of academic units specified in his/her curriculum including P.E and NSTP.
    3. With no grade below 2.5
    4. Have no dropped subjects during the term of evaluation
    5. Not have been found guilty of any minor or major offense
    6. Be willing to report to any office designated to them.
V. Institutional Scholarship/ Organizational Scholarship
The school also has other scholarships granted or sponsored by institutions and organizations. Conditions for these scholarships are dependent on the sponsoring organizations.
